After the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the production of The Witcher (Season 2) become slow down. Netflix has confirmed that despite many struggles, the team has managed to wrap up the filming within April 2021, and it is now under post-production. It is expected that it will release at any time this year.
It is still unknown exactly when Netflix has ordered for the third season as Netflix known that it is something that people like. The first season of the series has got a huge response from the viewers, and Henry Cavill has killed it as Geralt.
It is expected that in season 2 the story will progress with a lot of interesting events.
The Witcher(Season 2): Trailer
During Netflix’s Geek Week event it has revealed the teaser trailer on 11th June. The teaser was contained with only dialogue that is saying:
“I Need to Understand.”
“No!”
“Geralt!”
Now we have to wait to know the questions about what does Ciri needs to understand? What is the response to the negative? Where is Geralt?.
The Witcher(Season 2): New Cast
It has informed that four familiar Witchers are participating in the cast for season 2. We will see an appearance of Geralt’s father figure Vesesmir played by Kim Bodnia. He is one of the oldest witchers in the world on top as a man who has raised Geralt from a young age and he made Geralt the witcher that he become today. There are the other three who are respectively Eskel which is played by Thue Ersted Rasmussen, jerk witcher Lambert who will be performed by Paul Bullion, the combat trainer of Ciri’s sword Coen who will be performed by Yasen Atour, Kristofer Hivju will perform the role of Nivelin. All the fans from the book may recognize that The Last Wish name is the most popular witcher story.
Season 2 of this series will be featuring Cassie Clare as Philippa Eilhart, Graham McTavish as Dijkstra, Chris Fulton as Rience, Simon Callow as Codringher, Kevin Doyle as Ba’lian, Liz Carr as Fenn, Adjoa Andoh as Nenneke, Mecia Simon as Francesca, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Basil Eidenbenz as Eskel, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Bjorn as Vereena, Yasen Atour as Coen Agnes, Rebecca Hanssen as Queen Meve, and Edward Rowe as King Henselt.
The Witcher(Season 2): Release Date
It has been informed that The Witcher(Season 2) will premiere at any time in 2021 but the exact date has not been announced. At the beginning of April 2021, the filming of this series was wrapped up. In May, Hissrich declared that now they are “deep into post-production” on season 2, which indicates that we are getting more close to the series. It is expected that the trailer or the premiere dater we may like to see in this summer. The first season was dropped at the ending of 2019. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation, Netflix has suspended all the production of all of its shows during the several first months of this pandemic situation.
All the cast of The Witcher was reunited on the set on 17th August 2020, but due to the minor injury of Henry Cavil the filming again slowed down.
WitcherCon Updates
It has informed that Netflix had not been announced a Witcher (Season 2) release date on its Geeked Week Stream but it had announced an event called WitcherCon which is set to take place on 9th July. It is very interesting that Netflix is working with Witcher RPG developer CD Projekt Red on the event. It is the first time that the two parties are collaborating with each other.
The Witcher(Season 2): Plot
Netflix has released the teaser of The Witcher (Season 2). After Yennifer’s life was lost at the war of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia has brought Princess Cirilla to the safest place that he knows which is his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. It is the time when the Continent’s Kings, elves, humans, and demons were striving for supremacy outside of the walls then he has to protect the girl from something more dangerous which is the mysterious power that she possesses inside of her.
It is assuming that season 2 will be included with the wild hunt. It is the ultimate enemies and also the subtitles of The Witcher 3 when the novel readers recognize them from the pursuit of the beginning of Ciri in the fourth book, named Time of Concept.

Fans blog Redanian Intelligence are spotted a post on the database of the Writer’s Guild of America. It was added that “The Witcher Season 3 (2020-2021)” to the executive producer, writer, and showrunner Lauren Hissrich’s credits. It has known that the writer’s Guild of America is a large union body, so it seems to be unlikely that they had just built it up.
The Witcher(Season 2): Seven Seasons already mapped
The showrunner Lauren Hissrich is also very optimistic about the success of the series and expresses that she is already mapped out six more seasons if all are doing well. She said that they did not have a second season yet, God willing they would, but right now it was just about, how they set up stories that would really attract the audience for years at a time. The Witcher: Anime Film is coming On Netflix
The series has got a huge success on Netflix. It is great news that another Witcher story is on the way to service. It is an anime film called The Witcher: The Nightmare of the Wolf. It is in the work by the witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich and Studio Mir.
Netflix has said that this film will take us to a new threat facing the continent. It is expected that Nightmare of the Wolf will come before the second season of The Witcher. It seems that The Witcher is a great fit for the dramatic action anime.
The Witcher: Blood Origin is under process
Netflix is not stopped only by working on The Witcher series and an anime series. Netflix has also shown a green light to that prequel Witcher series that shows the origin of the first Witcher. It explores 1200 years before the time of Geralt of Rivia, the monster world, men, and elves are living together, and there the first Witcher open to be. The showrunner of The Witcher Lauren Hissrich is co-creating this with Declan de Barra who was written an episode in the first season. This Witcher prequel will be a six-part series.
In the lead role, we will see Jodie Turner as Eile who has left her life as an elite warrior continuing as a traveling musician.
