A spinoff of Borderlands, reportedly named Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, is currently in development but 2K probably won’t show it off at E3 2021.
A spinoff Borderlands game focusing on fan-favorite character Tiny Tina may be in development
According to a Reddit post by user Swine_Flu_Greg, publisher 2K and developer Gearbox Interactive is currently in the process of designing a new entry in its beloved Borderlands franchise. The project is codenamed “Daffodil” and will reportedly feature many familiar mechanics and concepts from previous entries in the action RPG shooter series.
Yes this 2K leak is real but I’m not sure all of it is going to be at E3. Can’t wait for Marvel XCOM though https://t.co/6TxZSk8hDa

The Reddit post elaborates more on what fans can expect, stating “It’s a Borderlands spin-off title featuring Tiny Tina. The final name could also be “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands” (as this is the name that Gearbox already trademarked). Seems to be the same style as all other Borderlands games with “Multiclass-Heroes” to play as.”

Providing more context on the rumor, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, who has a history of correctly verifying leaks, confirmed that the information in the post was accurate. “Yes this 2K leak is real but I’m not sure all of it is going to be at E3.” Schreier also confirmed a Marvel game from XCOM developer Firaxis was in development.
Considering the upcoming Borderlands movie, it’s possible that 2K aims to release the spinoff game to coincide with the launch of the film. Directed by Eli Roth, several silhouetted images of the story’s main characters were recently posted to social media; Tiny Tina, played by Arianna Greenblatt, was one of the characters shown off.
Introduced in Borderlands 2, Tiny Tina has remained a fan-favorite across multiple games. Voiced by Ashley Burch, the character even received her own piece of DLC for Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. Tiny Tina most recently appeared in Borderlands 3.
With E3 2021 just a few weeks away, it’s possible that 2K reveals its Borderlands spinoff during its digital showcase but at the time of writing nothing has been confirmed.
