The Denis Villeneuve adaptation of Frank Herbert’s sci-fi novel has created Dune fever among fans, with many of them, especially those with a Netflix subscription, wondering where they can see the Dune miniseries.
The Dune movie starring Timothee Chalamet isn’t the first time the 1965 titular story has been adapted for the screen. There was also a 1984 feature film directed by David Lynch and an Emmy-winning miniseries called Frank Herbert’s Dune.
The three-part series first broadcasted on the SyFy channel on December 3, 2002, and has since been revered for being one of the long-running network’s highest related program’s ever to be released. The cast for the well-received adaptation of Dune included Alec Newman, William Hurt Saskia reeves, Ian McNeice, Julie Cox, and Giancarlo Giannini.
The initial cut of the SyFy miniseries had a runtime of 265 minutes, and it is important to note there is also a director’s cut out there that comes in at 295 minutes in length. Either one would be an intriguing ordeal to experience before or after seeing the 2021 Dune movie, and it’s no wonder subscribers are asking questions about its availability on the streamer.
Is the Dune miniseries available on Netflix?
There are many exceptional limited series occupying the ranks of Netflix’s extensive library of riveting content. But, it isn’t very pleasant to report that the Dune miniseries is not available on the streamer.
It’s unfortunate Dune fans of old and new can not enjoy the limited series. But there are many other science-fiction endeavors to explore on Netflix, including Another Life, Space Sweepers, Alice in Borderland, IO, and The Midnight Sky, just to name a few.

Unfortunately, the Dune miniseries is not available on any streaming service or VOD platform. However, if anyone is interested, Frank Herbert’s Dune was released on DVD in 2001 with a director’s cut arriving in 2002, which are both available on Amazon for purchase.
