Gearbox Entertainment Provides Info on Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands and More!

Gearbox Entertainment’s E3 showcase was more of a look into previously announced titles than a slew of world premieres. Even still, the showcase had a lot of personality and gave more information on Gearbox’s assortment of highly anticipated games and movies.

Here’s everything announced at Gearbox Entertainment’s E3 showcase!

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was shown off first at the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live, but some more information released. Largely it was confirmed that the game is a looter-shooter inspired by the larger Borderlands universe but with a completely new set of characters set in a fantastical environment. Additionally, there will be new enemy types like wyverns and goblins, but with a twist.

Tribes of Midgard

Also announced first during the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live, Tribes of Midgard is a (up to) 10-player co-op action RPG about protecting a sacred world tree. There are 8 classes of characters, each with their own unique abilities and skills. The gameplay loop consists of scavenging resources in the day in order to build tools and fortify the area and defending the world tree at night when enemies come out to attack. Every couple of days a giant appears, making protecting the area even more difficult.

Tribes of Midgard comes out July 27th.

Godfall

Godfall released last year on PS5, but now will come to PS4 with a free upgrade to PS5. Additionally, there will be a new Fire & Darkness expansion, bringing players into the fire realm to fight a collection of new enemy types. There will also be a free Lightbringer update, leading to a new Lightbringer End Game. Matchmaking will also go into Beta and cross-generation play will be supported.

The PS4 version of Godfall, as well as the expansions, will come out August 10th.

Homeworld 3

Homeworld has a legacy for being the first 3D real-time RTS and the company just announced the third take on the series. It is the first since 2003 and is now in production. Unfortunately, not much else was mentioned.

Borderlands Movie

While not a game, the Borderlands-inspired movie is well into production. Randy Pitchford, founder of Gearbox Entertainment, took viewers on the set of the movie in a behind the scenes look. Although not much was shown in terms of trailers, cinematics, props, scenes, costumes, etc., production staff seemed very excited about the direction of the movie, particularly in developing the Borderlands universe to a movie format.
