Chelsea fans love N’Golo Kante even more after “humble” response to holiday question

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante’s nice-guy reputation will only be enhanced after his response for his perfect holiday.

When filming for Chelsea’s new kit sponsors’, Trivago, Kante revealed in the video that his ideal summer holiday away from football would be the comforts of his home.

He said: “Sometimes I just stay at home only and I’m happy.”

In what is the most Kante-like response, this comes as little surprise, but perhaps some annoyance to Trivago, who bank on people buying holidays.

Kante, the excellent leader in Chelsea’s midfield who put in man of the match displays in the Champions League semi-final and final wins over Real Madrid and Manchester City respectively, has always been one to shy away off the pitch.

During France’s World Cup celebrations in 2018, Kante stayed in the background and videos even showed team-mates Steven N’Zonzi and Florian Thauvin asking him to join in before giving him the trophy.

Olivier Giroud confirmed the same: “He is so shy so he didn’t want to say ‘give it to me’, so he had to wait…sometimes people came in front of him.

“At the end of the day someone took it and gave it to him,” Giroud added.

Kante is one of the world’s most loved footballers for his humility, character and obvious football talent and even at the age of 30 and so much success at a team and personal, he doesn’t forget his roots.
