MARY CALVI: It’s just a winner of a day. Let’s get over to Elise Finch with a check on the rest of today. And then this weekend sounds nice too.

ELISE FINCH: It does. It is a jackpot of a forecast, you are correct Mary Calvi. I think everyone will agree with us. I mean, just really beautiful. Yesterday I was calling my pick of the week. But today is just as gorgeous. We’ve got sunny skies. We’re already at 73 degrees. So already warmer than we were yesterday. Right now, winds are out of the north at just five miles an hour. So we’ve got sunny, warm, breezy conditions. Pollen a bit of an issue today, but that’s been the case for the past few weeks.

Tree pollen is high. Grass is very high. Ragweed and mold are low, but weeds are moderate. So a plethora of allergens that will likely irritate you as you move around outdoors today. And you probably will be enticed to go outside because it’s just that gorgeous. It’s Friday. It’s warm and sunny. I mean, what more could you ask for? Well, guess a couple hundred million dollars might not hurt. But temperatures right now, upper 60s to the low 70s pretty much across the board. 74 for Poughkeepsie and White Plains, 71 for Sparta and the Hamptons.

72 for Edison, Babylon, and for Brick. And these numbers represent a warm up over this time yesterday. It’s five degrees warmer right now than it was this time yesterday in Central Park, 9 degrees warmer for White Plains, 8 degrees warmer for Brick. So you can see our temperatures on Wednesday, we maxed out at 68. Yesterday was a very pleasant 72 degrees. But today, we’re going up to 76 which is where we will be today and again tomorrow. A little cooler for Sunday, but still a nice warming trend.

For several days we had a cooling trend, so yesterday we turned the corner. You Skycast satellite and radar shows just a little bit of cloud cover. Generally speaking though, we’ve just got beautiful skies out there. So mostly sunny for the tri-state area, we do have a couple of areas of high pressure. Well we do have this trough, an elongated area of low pressure. So there is a slight chance of a shower, primarily north and west of New York City this afternoon.

There it is. So not a great chance, about a 10% chance that we could see a shower, but we may see a few more clouds in the mix this afternoon. Still a beautiful day. Saturday also shaping up to be a beautiful day, mostly sunny. A few more clouds once again in the afternoon with just a slight chance of seeing some showers for your Saturday afternoon. And we do that again on Sunday. Starts out great, afternoon gives us more clouds and a chance for some shower activity.

The weekend looks good though, you see it there. 76 on Saturday, a taste of June. 74 degrees expected on Sunday with a 30% chance of seeing some rain. And your seven day forecast shows by the middle of next week, temperatures will be close to 80 degrees, Mary.

MARY CALVI: Wow, beautiful stretch coming our way. Elise, thank you so much. And a quick reminder, the countdown to AIDS Walk New York is on. You can watch this year’s virtual event AIDS Walk Live at Home streaming on CBSN New York this Sunday at 1:00.
