Randy Pitchford took us behind the scenes of the Borderlands movie at E3 2021.
Shown off during the Gearbox conference, we didn’t get to see much of the upcoming film, but we at one point Pitchford did hold up an authentic Vladof Infinity prop. Alas, the closest we got to seeing Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina was a very quick tease.
During the sequence, Pitchford confirmed that the film was about 2/3 of the way done shooting. He was joined by director Eli Roth, who talked a little bit about the film’s aims. “We want this to be a gateway drug for non-Borderlands fans,” Roth said.
Cate Blanchett’s Lilith will be the movie’s main character, with the movie’s plot centering around her quest to return to the planet of Pandora and recover the missing daughter of “the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas.” Along the way, she’ll cross paths with Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Tannis, Gina Gershon as Moxxi, Janina Gavankar as Commander Knox, Jack Black as Claptrap, and Florian Munteanu as Tina Tina’s protector, Krieg.
