‘Dune’ star Timothée Chalamet wears Converse sneakers, Haider Ackermann ensemble at Met Gala 2021 – CONAN Daily


Timothée Chalamet, 25, wore Converse Chuck Taylor All Star sneakers when he attended the annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, New York, United States on September 13, 2021. The institute’s newest exhibition will be open to the public in the museum’s Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021.

With the theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” the Met Gala 2021 was chaired by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, 71. Chalamet was appointed co-chair along with Naomi Osaka, 23, Amanda Gorman, 23, and Billie Eilish, 19.

Wearing an ensemble by French fashion designer Haider Ackermann, 50, Chalamet wore a white double-breasted blazer with black lapels worn over a white turtleneck top. The suit’s white trousers featured two sparkling crystal pins, loose cummerbund and drop-crotch silhouette.

Chalamet wore his Converse sneakers over tall white socks. His suit pants were tucked into the socks.

Converse is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. It was founded in 1908 by Marquis Mills Converse.

With androgynous looks and beautiful jawline, Chalamet has been considered a fashion icon even before Met Gala 2021. His acting prowess was particularly noticed after his performance in the 2017 film “Call Me by Your Name,” which earned him the 2018 Academy Awards nomination for Best Actor.

Chalamet plays the lead character Paul Atreides in the sci-fi film “Dune,” which will be released in the U.S. on October 22, 2021. It was filmed in Budapest, Hungary.

Denis Villenueve directed “Dune,” which he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth. Joining Chalamet in the cast are Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson and Zendaya, among others.

“Dune” premiered at the 78th Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2021. It is an adaptation of Frank Herbert‘s 1965 novel of the same name.
